54 And the Lord appeared unto them, and they rose up and blessed Adam, and called him Michael, the prince, the archangel.
Michael is the seventh angel according to D&C 88:
112 And Michael, the seventh angel, even the archangel, shall gather together his armies, even the hosts of heaven.
There are no angels who minister to this earth but those who belong to it, D&C 130:5.
According to this, they would have had to been born upon this earth at one time. However, this may just apply to regular angels, not archangels.
D&C 128 gives two more names:
21 And again, the voice of God in the chamber of old Father Whitmer, in Fayette, Seneca county, and at sundry times, and in divers places through all the travels and tribulations of this Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! And the voice of Michael, the archangel; the voice of Gabriel, and of Raphael, and of divers angels, from Michael or Adam down to the present time, all declaring their dispensation, their rights, their keys, their honors, their majesty and glory, and the power of their priesthood; giving line upon line, precept upon precept; here a little, and there a little; giving us consolation by holding forth that which is to come, confirming our hope!
I would love to hear other from other people. Here's an interesting question, what if the seven archangels were each from the 7 seals of time. Although, if that's the case, then why would Michael (Adam) be number 7? Fascinating mystery!
There are only the 2 that have been revealed (Adam and Noah) but, from those 2 there appears to be a pattern: Both are the prophets of a dispensation.
If (and I emphasize the word IF) the observed pattern is correct then that leaves Enoch, Moses, Abraham, Jesus Christ and Joseph Smith.
Remember this hasn't been revealed so we don't know for sure- all we have to go on is an observed pattern in the 2 that have been revealed.
Joseph Smith taught that Noah is the archangel Gabriel :)
Adam will be the one handing over all the keys of the dispensations directly to Christ. He was Father Adam and was given this great honor
That's a interesting question, Daphne!
I haven't researched it, but in a quick scripture search, this is what I found:
Michael, the archangel, is Adam, D&C 107:54.
